Norco Scrap Metal Recycle Days Nov 16 and 17

November 17, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

If you have scrap metal to recycle as a donation to Norco– Norco has a collection weekend on November 16th and 17th with a roll-off container in the parking lot, 8am to 4pm each day. Of interest is copper, brass, stainless steel, aluminum, lead (including car batteries), and steel. Old grills, lawn furniture, car parts, gutters, plumbing fixtures, any white appliance (including air conditioners), propane tanks that are disassembled, light fixtures with bulbs removed, etc. See the list below. Any spent brass shell casings can go anytime to the rifle range barrel and are not to be placed into the roll-off bin.

Before you can drop, you need to send an email [wayne@norco.club] or call/txt msg Wayne Adams 508-631-8883 to pre-approve your items and receive additional guidance on prepping an item. If you are not on the list to make a drop, you may be turned away. There are a number of items that will not be accepted, just like any recycle center. At this November program, we will not be handling computer/tv electronic devices, anything that can be considered hazmat material/liquid with metal such as metal pipes encased in asbestos, undrained fluids in motorized equipment, etc.. See the list below with the red X. If you have an automobile to donate, a special pickup can be arranged at your house on a mutual date.

We thank new Norco member’s who own/operate a salvage business in Worcester in helping Norco setup this win-win fund raiser. We are also seeking volunteers who have a truck or trailer to help other Norco members who have a heavy item but can’t transport it in, to go fetch it. Also Norco needs a few volunteers to provide assistance on November 16th and 17th at the roll-off bin, between 8am-4pm. On the 16th, orange pylon cones will be setup to segregate a traffic pattern into the drop-off area in the common parking lot- to keep the pheasant hunters and their dogs safe. Coffee, water, donuts will be available at the drop-off. Yes, you can also bring in neighbors and extended family metal materials as well.

Norco will plan another drop-off day in the Spring 2020, most likely timed with the club clean-up day.

All funds generated will go to the general fund to operate and maintain the club ranges, the club house, and procure maintenance seasonal services and repairs.
