Kids Day Activities and Volunteers Needed As Follows

Activities to make items for visitors
- make a bird house or bat house (1 per family) , screws and assembly
- make a walking stick , cut to size, debark, sand, wrist strap
- make a bird seed treat pine cone, peanut butter, seeds(good for very young kids)
- make a turkey call (good for a very young kids) , solo plastic cup, string
- <tbd> make an archers arrow lube tube (good for archers – aides easy removal of arrow from a target) , assembly
- make a spinner bait fishing lure for trout season (good for kids who fish) , assembly, choose blade pattern
Skills for young visitors to be introduced to
- archery – shoot a variety of bows/arrow at a target (basic, recurve, compound) (outdoor on lawn weather permitting)
- casting a lure – use a variety of reel/rod types (close/open face spincast, baitcast, ? fly) (outdoor on lawn weather permitting)

Schedule of activities
- February 16 – March 1 …signup volunteers, close out pending donations, gather remaining items
- March 2 – 6pm-8.30 – move materials from trap house to Norco club ; assemble bird/bat kits; demonstrate how they are made
- March 3 9am-10am – setup the stations, start the coffee, hang signs, set up traffic pattern
- March 3 10am – 2pm – program runs
- March 3, 10:30, 11, 11:30, 12, 12:30, 1, 1:30 – drawings for give-aways
- March 3 11:00 – pizza runner goes to pickup, ready at 11:15
- March 3 2pm-3pm, pack up, clean up
- March 4 – get pictures and post to web
Volunteers Need Per Activity and Needed Items , followed by List of Volunteers tracked
8-10 volunteers: to make a bird house or bat house (1 per family) , screws and assembly . Need electric/cordless drills, total 6-8 to drive T-25 star/hex head screws; need 8 philips screwdrivers . See pics below for a T-25 bit. I will have some, but not 8.
4 volunteers: make a walking stick , cut to size, debark, sand, wrist strap . knife ; all tools provided; optional to bring knife/draw knife
1 volunteer: make a bird seed treat pine cone, peanut butter, seeds(good for very young kids)
and make a turkey call (good for a very young kids) , solo plastic cup, string ; all supplies and tools provided
1 volunteer: make an archers arrow lube tube (good for archers – aides easy removal of arrow from a target) , assembly

2 volunteers: archery – shoot a variety of bows/arrow at a target (basic, recurve, compound) (outdoor on lawn weather permitting)
1-2 volunteers: casting a lure – use a variety of reel/rod types (close/open face spincast, baitcast, ? fly) (outdoor on lawn weather permitting)
plus need someone to bring in 3-4 rods of various reel/rod types
4 volunteers: food and beverage , periodic cleanup, 1 person to run for pizza —pickup 25 large boxes
2 volunteers: on each floor, meet and greet, provide orientation to where the activities are, hand a flyer, give a prize drawing ticket
1 part time volunteer: prize drawings, post numbers, help winner make a selection
1 part time volunteer: parking lot direction giving for 9.45-10.30 – direct to large lot past dumpster on the left ; volunteers park in rear and enter 2nd floor
