Norco April 2023 Trout Fishing Derby

A great weather day for the family to come out and catch some rainbow trout.  Over 30 trout were caught throughout the morning.  We had winners for the first fish and largest fish for both adults and kids.  Every kid had a pick from the assortment of fishing lures for coming out for the fun day.  Charlie, barely seen, in the shed cooking all day everyone’s comfort food for breakfast and lunch.  The pond is open for fishing 7×24 until the May 20th derby.  If you have a picture to share to add to the album, please email to wayne@norco.club.

Greetings,

Please share this email for all the Norco volunteers who are all part of making the fishing derby a special day for everyone who attends – THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH, your efforts are appreciated.

It was a beautiful day on 4/15/23 for the NORCO fishing derby.  We arrived around 7:30 am and found our perfect spot to set up our chairs, fishing gear, etc. at the pond and then went to see Charlie who was doing a wonderful job cooking breakfast sandwiches.  We all (3) ordered one and it was not only delicious but very affordable. We also had lunch at the shed (burgers / hot dogs) and again good food, good prices and most of all good people!

Fishing was great, everyone including our nephew, caught at least one to three nice rainbow trout (which we enjoyed at home on our grill with wine, butter, lemon, garlic and parsley – they were very tasty).  The kids all seemed to be having a wonderful time fishing.  All morning we heard the kids yelling, I got one, I got one and they did – truly what the fishing derby is all about.  Everyone was smiling, laughing and enjoying the day.  The only negative thing that happened was when Debbie hooked herself on her cheek with her lure – OUCH; the positive side of this was there were some nice folks that ran to her aid and successfully removed the hook from her face.

At the end of the derby the prizes were given out and everyone was happy!  At this point it was time to go shoot some skeet rounds wink_smile  at the upper skeet and trap fields with some of our closest friends (members) here at the club.  It was an awesome day all around!

Looking forward to the next fishing derby at NORCO!

Cordially,
Tina, Jack, Alex
