Cub Scout’s Bushcraft Demonstrations

Norco member Mike Rainville provided a series of bushcraft demonstrations during the Princeton cub scout October sleepover on the Norco lawn. Skills demoed included how to build a makeshift taunt shelter with an emergency blanket and para-cord, how to orient the fire and build up a sleeping bed of forest floor debris with the shelter, how to start a fire with firestarting rod and tinder, a review of different types of tinder, and how to setup a one-pot meal over a fire.  The troop leaders, parents, and scouts  were appreciative of Mike’s knowhow and overall, to have a great sleepover under the stars.
